Historical Snow Base statistics for ski resorts.
We reveal snow base stats from best ski resorts around the world. We have sorted through statistics of different mountain ranges of different continents to bring to you the best peak of the crop resorts stats we could find. Skiable base refers to the upper slope snow conditions at its best.
So for instance if Val d’Isere’s upper slopes
peaked with a 2m snow depth or base(79 inches) over the years, we used the figure of 2 m.
Why snow base stats?
It is relevant if you want to get a feel for how deep the snow will be where you ski.
Some resorts get plenty of snowfall but the snow depth or base left behind may not be equally great. The snow melts and there is less left behind.
Depending on where you travel, you will encounter different statistics. The American resorts love reporting annual snowfalls, whereas the rest of the world is more inclined on reporting the snow base cover. Which is better ...perhaps you decide? Compiled are stats from 47 best resorts.
